Situated on the edge of St Albans with stunning views over open fields, the Potting Shed Cafe is light and spacious serving speciality teas and coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes using our own grown and locally sourced produce.
Relax and enjoy wonderful food, made with great produce, overlooking beautiful countryside
Set within a converted barn The Potting Shed has become one of the most popular places to eat in St Albans, Harpenden, Welwyn and surrounding villages in Hertfordshire. On warm sunny days, with views over a beautifully landscaped garden and open fields you can dine outside on our patio or with the bi-fold doors opened to enjoy the summer breeze gently blowing in. Well behaved dogs are welcome, so you can relax and enjoy a well-earned drink and slice of cake after a walk around Heartwood Forest situated just a mile down the road.
After growing fruit and vegetables for our farm shop for over 90yrs, we thought it was about time we gave our customers the opportunity to dine with us in our restaurant and sample some of the lovely things we grow in a selection of great dishes. Whether you are looking for a light bite or hearty lunch we have a wide range of dishes to suit everyone. We have a good selection of vegetarian and gluten free options and a number of our dishes are also vegan friendly. We update our specials menu regularly with seasonal favourites so no matter how often you visit there is always something new to try!

It is strictly prohibited for dogs to sit on owners laps or on the furniture. We allow only one dog per person & a maximum of two dogs per table.
